Savings Tips
1. Open a Savings Account in Their Name
Set up a junior account with your local credit union or bank. Having their own account makes saving feel real and exciting.
2. Use Clear Goals
Help them pick something to save for (a toy, trip, or long-term goal) so they understand why saving matters.
3. Match Their Savings
Offer to match a portion of what they save. This motivates them and shows the benefit of saving regularly.
4. Give Allowances in Small Notes or Coins
Hand out their pocket money in smaller amounts so they can physically divide it between spending, saving, and sharing.
5. Celebrate Milestones
Praise or reward them when they reach savings goals - it reinforces the habit and makes saving fun.
