Our Sustainability Journey so far ……

West-Midlands Credit Union is going green and is committed to being a sustainable organisation. Below outlines just some of the sustainable projects we are working on to play our part in environmental sustainability.

Low-Rate Green Loans

WMCU now offers Green Loans that empower our members to invest in environmentally conscious projects such as solar panel installations, energy-efficient home upgrades, or electric vehicle purchases. By opting for a green loan through a credit union, members not only benefit from competitive rates and flexible terms but also contribute to a healthier planet by reducing their carbon footprint. Green Schools Sustainability Awards

The awards are designed to reward primary schools that strive for sustainability. Sustainability is deeply embedded into every aspect of West-Midlands Credit Union’s operating principals and ethos. We recognise that climate action and mitigating climate change is the most important long-term goals for the quality and functioning of our planet. The winner of the awards receives €500 with the runner up receiving €250 towards continued investment in sustainability projects in the schools. Our green committee is a dedicated group within our organisation focused on fostering sustainability initiatives and environmental responsibility. Comprised of passionate individuals from various departments, the green committee works tirelessly to integrate eco-friendly practices into our daily operations and culture. From organising recycling programs to reducing energy consumption the committee leads by example and inspires collective action towards a greener future. By championing sustainable practices and raising awareness among employees and stakeholders, our green committee plays a pivotal role in shaping our organisation's environmental impact.
